Actor best known for playing Thor in the Marvel film series. His other movie credits include Rush, Red Dawn, The Cabin in the Woods, Vacation and In the Heart of the Sea. He was cast in the 2016 comedy Ghostbusters, a reboot of the 1980s films. In 2018, he was cast to star as Agent H in Men in Black: International.

Despite not receiving the role he auditioned for, he was called back and given a role on the Australian soap opera Home and Away in 2004.
